The Rolex gang, the target of the operation, is suspected of stealing Leo Dias' watch

The “Rolex Gang” was the target of a major operation carried out by the Civil Police (PCDF) This Thursday (7) was suspected of being involved in the robbery of columnist Leo Dias. The presenter stole a Rolex watch as he stopped at a traffic light, with the car window open, in Praia de Boa Viagem, in Recife.

The robbery occurred on September 27. On that occasion, the thief approached the journalist, announced his robbery and took accessories worth R$200,000. At that time, Leo Dias vented about the situation on the internet and even offered a reward of R$ 5,000 to anyone who could provide information.

According to Correio Braziliense, there is strong evidence that the gang targeted in Thursday's (7) operation is the same gang that robbed Leo Dias. Based on investigations, criminal organizations usually use the same modus operandi. Last year alone, at least eight robberies were recorded in the capital.

This morning, police officers from the Property Crime Enforcement Coordination (Corpatri) carried out eight search warrants, confiscations and arrest warrants against members of the gang. Court orders were complied with in DF, São Paulo and Pernambuco.

To date, five people have been arrested and four Rolex watches worth R$150,000 (each) have been recovered.
