Montana's regional governor, Kalin Haitov, told BTA that the Montana region is ready for the start of winter.

He commented on the topic after a meeting of the District Council for Disaster Risk Reduction in the Montana Territory, where representatives of territorial structures reported on their preparedness for winter.

All cities in the region have signed contracts with companies for winter road maintenance, there are also companies for republican roads. Inert materials and chemicals in the quantities required for the roads have been provided, Haitov said. Representatives of companies supplying electricity, water and natural gas have expressed their readiness to work in winter conditions in the presence of regional governors. The precautionary measures taken to ensure the normal functioning of infrastructure, supplies and services for the population during the winter season have been reported. The Regional Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior and the Regional Directorate “Fire Safety and Population Protection” in Montana have reported the availability of equipment and human resources necessary to act in complex winter situations.

Health and educational institutions have also expressed their readiness to work in winter conditions, announcing that they are provided with fuel and medicine.
