The profits of the online platform for vacation rentals “Airbnb” (Airbnb) decreased in the third quarter, the company announced today, cited by DPA.
Airbnb reported profit of $1.368 billion, or $2.13 per share, up from $4.374 billion, or $6.63 per share, in last year's third quarter.
However, Airbnb's third-quarter revenue rose 9.9 percent to $3.732 billion from $3.397 billion a year ago.
Airbnb co-founder and CEO Brian Chesky said this quarter was a strong quarter for the company.
“I'm very proud of the expansion of our marketplace, app bookings and Guest Picks (a collection of Airbnb's most beloved homes – ed.) and look forward to another strong holiday travel season,” he added.
As of April 2023 Airbnb has removed more than 300,000 listings that “failed to meet expectations,” the company announced.
