Bahia and 12 other states are expected to be hit by heavy rain starting this Friday (8)according to the warning issued by National Meteorological Institute. The classification is dangerous – orange alert – and the alert is maintained until 10am on Saturday (9).
The forecast is for rain between 30 and 60 mm/hour or 50 and 100 mm/day and strong winds (60-100 km/hour), with the risk of power outages, falling tree branches, flooding and electrical discharges. The recommendation if wind gusts occur is not to take shelter under trees and not to park vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs.
