Amazon Prime Day Returns October 8-9

Amazon has announced the next Prime Day, and it's just a few weeks away. The two-day Prime Day sale for October will kick off on October 8 at 12:01 a.m. PT/3:01 a.m. ET and run for 48 hours until October 9. Expect steep discounts across the Amazon store — which, if past is prologue, should include great deals on video games, board games, toys, Blu-ray sets, Lego, and more.

The best and biggest deals will only be available to Prime members – and that's true all year round, as we've seen even this week. Charming $33 Charger that's about $50 for non-Prime members. Amazon Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year, which is about a $40 savings if you pay for 12 months in advance. (There's also 30-day free trial (available to new members.) A Prime membership also gets you free shipping and access to Prime Video, which just won an Emmy this week. Fall out And Mr. and Mrs. Smith – Both series are simply magnificent, I would add.

But one of the best perks of Prime for many Polygon readers is the sheer number of free games offered throughout the year—with some free Lord of the Rings games currently tops the list of dozens. We expect more free stuff to be added as the holidays approach.

As always, we'll be working around the clock during Prime Day and in the lead up to the event, curating the best deals from both Amazon and other retailers.
