They deployed a booking operation in downtown Torreón, to free up sidewalks

Departments and companies in the Municipality, with the support of the State Police, launched an operation to regulate street trade on Hidalgo Street in the Central area, aiming to free up the area for pedestrians, to guarantee their safety.

23 stalls were visited who, despite having permission, were expanding their selling space so they were told to reduce their space.

As a result of this action, five traders who did not have permits were removed, while managers of seven shops were asked to keep their merchandise inside the shop so they had to be removed from the sidewalk.

The Mayor, Claudia Verónica González Díaz, reported that this action was carried out as an invitation to street vendors to limit themselves to occupying designated spaces, so that no sanctions or fines were applied.

This operation was carried out because several cases of street vendors were detected who exceeded the designated area limits on public roads and expanded their space arbitrarily.

The measure includes businesses set up on Hidalgo Avenue that also typically sell their products on the sidewalk.
