The Public Ministry of the State of Amazonas (MPAM) has opened a civil investigation to investigate alleged irregularities in the sale of boxes for the 24th edition of the Eco Festival do Peixe-Boi, to be held in 2023, under the responsibility of the city management.
In this particular case, the City Hall needs to clarify and prove the legal relationship established with Uni Eventos, the company responsible for promoting and selling tickets for the 2023 edition of the Peixe-Boi Festival.
“To date, there is no document that justifies the contract and this raises questions about the legality of the sale of the tickets. Therefore, the Public Ministry seeks to ensure that each and every movement of public resources occurs clearly and within legal parameters”, commented prosecutor João Ribeiro Guimarães Netto, regent.
The festival is supported by the private company Uni Eventos in the promotion and sale of box seats, open bar and front stage tickets. The event features the presence of national and local artists, such as Zé Vaqueiro, Tarcísio do Acordeom, Marília Tavares, Gedean Marques, Vanda Guedes, Guto Lima, Carlinhos do Boi and Arlindo Neto, in addition to the presence of official merchandise from Peixe-boi Jaú and Peixe-boi Anavilhanas, folklore groups in the city.
The action is based on the Resolution of the High Council of Public Ministries No. 006/2015, which regulates the application of administrative and judicial measures by the MPAM, for the defense and protection of public and social assets. In addition to article 37 of the Federal Constitution which determines that public administration must comply with the principles of legality, impersonality, morality, publicity and efficiency.
