Three people were killed and 37 injured in 29 serious accidents in the country in the last 24 hours, the Interior Ministry announced.

In Sofia, three serious traffic accidents and 25 light accidents were recorded, resulting in three people being injured.

Since the beginning of the month, there have been 332 accidents with 37 deaths and 427 injuries.

Since the beginning of the year, 6,379 traffic accidents were recorded which resulted in 414 deaths and 8,026 injuries.

When compared with actual data on the number of deaths in the same period in 2023, the number of road users who died in 2024 decreased by 57 people, reported the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The country's roads were mostly wet, and light rain fell almost everywhere, the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) reported. Latest information as of 6:00 am. Due to fog, visibility was reduced to 20 m in the Burgas region in the Valchanovo Khanche region, Lovech region, Troyanski prohod, Shipkovo and Ribaritsa regions.

There was a decrease in visibility due to fog up to 100 meters in the Lovech area of ​​the Ablanitsa region, Bulgarian Spring, in the higher parts of Kardjali, Pazardzhik in the Yundola region, the Panagyurski colony, the Smolyan region in the region's own district and the Targovishte region in the Omurtag region and Anton, added by API.
