A man and a woman, aged 55 and 56 respectively, were arrested on Thursday (10), for not providing assistance to an elderly person and endangering the health of the elderly person, against his own mother, who is 86 years old. The arrest was made in the Alvorada neighborhood, Manaus Central-West Zone.
According to delegate Juliana Tuma, who is temporarily in charge of the special unit, the investigation began after receiving a complaint from the 56th Prosecutor's Office, Public Ministry of Amazonas (MPAM), which reported that the elderly woman was in a hospital. vulnerable situation and his children do not allow other family members to provide him with the necessary assistance.
“The investigation team immediately went to the scene to investigate the complaint and, upon arrival at the scene, they found the elderly woman without food, neglected and dirty, confirming the Public Ministry's complaint. “Given the circumstances, the child victims were caught red-handed,” the delegation said.
The brothers will respond for failing to provide assistance to the elderly and endangering the health of the elderly and is in the hands of the Court.
