A man allegedly killed his wife, aged 39, and her two daughters, aged 13 and 14, in the town of Custódia, Sertão de Pernambuco, on Tuesday evening (15).
According to unofficial information, he tied up the victims before setting fire to the residence where they lived, in Sítio Santana. The third son of the couple managed to escape as he was not at home at the time of the crime, as he had been out for the night.
The suspect managed to escape. The Pernambuco Civil Police (PCPE) reported that they were investigating “the incident of fire and murder of women.”
“A police investigation has been launched and further information cannot be released at this time so as not to disrupt the progress of the investigation,” the company said in a statement.
The crime shocked the residents of Custódia. Friends, neighbors and townspeople expressed great sadness and solidarity with the victim's family.
The police also asked for public support to help arrest the suspect. Any information that may assist the investigation should be immediately communicated to the authorities.
