Junge Union wants free colon cancer screening for everyone over 30

This arises from a request for the Federal Congress from 25 to 27 October in Halle (Saale), which is available to the German Editorial Network (RND). It said that German Day should decide on “the introduction of free colon cancer screening from the age of 30 as a health insurance benefit for all insured persons”. “This service should be part of the standard care provided by statutory health insurance companies to enable early detection and treatment of colon cancer,” he continued.

Junior members of the party also want to improve breast cancer prevention through cheaper mammograms. In its application, JU called for “extension of breast cancer prevention to women aged 30 years and over as a free health insurance benefit”. This should especially include ultrasound diagnostics. “Mammography screening should also be abandoned from the age of 30,” Junge Union further demands. “In the same way, testicular cancer prevention should also be expanded and covered as a health insurance benefit for all insured persons.”

This application was initiated by the Erfurt JU and recommended for acceptance by the Federal Executive Council.
