Alpine will use Mercedes engines and gearboxes from 2026. This change is due to the departure of Renault, Alpine's owner and the team's current engine supplier, at the end of the 2025 season.
“Alpine, Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains and Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix have reached an agreement to supply power units and gearboxes from the start of the FIA Formula 1 World Championship [Federação Internacional de Automobilismo] starting in 2026. This multi-year agreement ensures that Mercedes will supply power units to Alpine throughout the new regulatory era, from 2026 until at least 2030,” Alpine said in a statement.
That way, Mercedes will continue to supply power units to 4 of the 10 teams in F1 currently. The list also includes McLaren, Williams and Aston Martin. However, starting in 2026, Aston Martin will migrate to Honda.
In the constructors' championship, the French team rose from ninth place, beating Williams, Visa Cash App RB and Haas, and is now sixth in the table.
