BBC Breakfast’s Nina Warhurst said “Enough is enough” as she decided to take a break from social media. The 43-year-old presenter came back to the show in January after being away for seven months on maternity leave. However, in a new post, the presenter said she feels she’s too busy for Instagram because she’s looking after her little girl, Nancy, with her husband Ed Fraser.
Nina made one last post on Thursday morning (March 29) to say goodbye to her followers for a while. She bid farewell to her 29,000 fans with a cute photo of her and her baby in the kitchen.
She wrote a big message with the picture: “Signing off from Insta for a few weeks. I *love* this site. I don’t take myself, or the apparently perfect lives of others, too seriously.
“I howl laughing every day from a scarily accurate meme. I connect with lovely people who I don’t get to see IRL. And there are loads of cats and babies.
“Maybe I love it too much… Because I’ve found myself scrolling all. The. Time. Catching up on people’s stories, having a nosey at how people live who have nothing to do with me, and (the absolute grossest) checking for likes… Enough is enough.”
Nina concluded her post: “I’ve never had so many plates to spin, and this little chick needs my full attention more often.
(I also need to see if our friendship extends beyond the holiday planning and kitten memes @catpatfox @helenkavanagh @helenboylen ) See you soon x x x x And @samantha_metcalfe_mua you best not have seen this post !!!!!” (sic)
Responding to the news, Nina’s fans admitted they were sorry to see her go, but were fully understanding of her reasons.
One commented: “Aw will miss you and your brilliant, honest, truthful posts on here, but I completely understand. Take care, Nina, and big love to you and your family.”
Another added: “I’ll miss your really honest take on life, family and SM people generally. But enjoy the break and give your time to those you care about. And make time for the chocolate this weekend.”
A third penned “Oh no! Will miss your posts. BUT totally understand. Enjoy this time with your little people, you’ll never get this time back. Remember we’ll all be here when you get back. “
And a fourth said: “Sorry to see you go. You have a lovely family and have enjoyed your lovely personality on here. Take care and enjoy family time.”
It comes six days after Nina and her caterer spouse Tim celebrated 10 years of marriage. Nina marked the occasion with a video montage of memories, played to the sounds of Jackie Wilson’s song, (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher.
BBC Breakfast airs daily at 6am on BBC One.
