I tried the new Terry's Chocolate Orange flavour and it gave me such a nostalgic feeling.

Terry's has introduced a new flavour to its iconic Orange chocolate range that has both intrigued and divided chocolate lovers.

This time, Favorite Chocolatier opted for the plain milk chocolate version, but does this new offering live up to the high standards set by its flagship product? I tested it to find out, and was pleasantly surprised by my discovery.

After unwrapping the signature orange-shaped foil, the familiar ritual of breaking the chocolate ball remains unchanged.

And just like the advert, I followed the slogan's instructions: “Don't touch, hit!” The orange then opened up like a lotus, revealing 20 juicy, creamy pieces of milk chocolate.

The experience, as always, is rewarding and maintains the playful tradition that Terry's fans love so much.

The new version of plain milk chocolate is a departure from the traditional citrus treat, aimed at those with simpler tastes. And the first thing you'll notice about this new flavour is its striking resemblance to the chocolates found in Christmas advent calendars.

The creamy milk chocolate is smooth and sweet, and evokes a feeling of nostalgia that I can only compare to eating chocolate on a winter morning before Christmas.

It's a pleasant, familiar taste that many will find irresistibly more enjoyable. However, taste is where opinions may differ.

The regular milk chocolate is certainly sweet, and doesn't quite measure up in quality to other offerings in the line, namely the iconic orange and mint flavours.

But for those with simple tastes, this new flavor is a dream come true. It’s uncomplicated and simple, allowing the milk chocolate quality to shine through without any competing flavors. However, for die-hard fans of the original Chocolate Orange, the lack of the signature citrus notes may be a bit of a letdown.

When it comes to comparisons with other flavors in Terry's line, I'd say it doesn't quite topple the reigning champion: Chocolate Orange Mint. With its refreshing mint notes, the formula offers a unique flavor that perfectly complements the rich chocolate.

The new milk chocolate flavour competes with Terry's Dark Chocolate Orange, Terry's White Chocolate Orange, the original Chocolate Orange and, of course, a range of minis. Minis flavours include Orange, Exploding Candy and Mint Crisp.

While it's not Terry's best product yet, the company has once again proven its ability to innovate and delight, even if its latest offering isn't to everyone's taste.

Whether you're a fan of the new plain milk chocolate or prefer the classic orange or mint flavors, there's no denying that Terry's Chocolate Orange continues to be a favorite in the confectionery world.

And it's easy to get hold of, as all the major retailers stock the chocolate delicacy, with most full-size products selling for £1.50-£1.75.
