Musician Liam Payne died at the age of 31, this Wednesday (16). His body was found dead at the Casa Sur hotel, in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
According to the newspaper La Nacion, the musician died after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Palermo. Also according to the newspaper, police were called to the scene to detain “an aggressive man” who may have been “under the influence of drugs or alcohol.” Police confirmed the death.
The head of the Emergency Medical Care System (Sama) in Argentina, Alberto Crescenti, told local press that the death occurred instantly.
“At 17:04. [local]at 911, we were notified of someone being in the courtyard inside the CasaSur hotel. “A few minutes later, the local SAME team arrived and confirmed the death of the man, who we later learned was a member of the music group,” said the SAME chairman.
On the 4th of this month, Payne traveled to Argentina to watch his former bandmate Niall Horan perform.
Payne gained fame in the 2010s when he joined the now-defunct British boy band One Direction.
