At 24 years old you are not ready to be Club president: Faitelson

“A 24-year-old boy is not ready to be president of a club, with all due respect,” said David Faitelson at TUDN referring to the appointment of Aleco Irarragorri.

Yesterday, Thursday, Aleco Irarragorri was appointed as the new president of Santos Laguna, becoming one of the youngest managers in Liga MX.

Aleco took over the reins of Santos Laguna in the midst of a results crisis and a lack of fan interest, so the task was not easy.

During a broadcast of TUDN's evening program, Línea de 4, Faitelson criticized the decision.

“It was as if a doctor at 24 years old was trying to operate. In life you win with experience, at 24 you are not ready to be president.”

Marc Crosas, a former fighter, defended the young Irarragorri because he assured that Santos Laguna had structure, and it was not just his “handmade” decisions. Crosas also said that he should be given time as he is a young man who grew up with the team, when his father took over the team.

“This is a very important leap, with a lot of responsibility at a very complicated time for La Laguna.”

Aleco assures that he is not here to make promises, but he has come to “leave his heart behind.”
