The One Show has been pulled off-air next week by the BBC in yet another schedule shake-up. This isn’t the first time the hit show has been taken off-air as it’s been replaced by other programmes several times this year.
It will not air on Monday and Tuesday next week, as the BBC will be replacing it with other television shows. On Monday, Panorama will be airing instead and on Tuesday, the show will be replaced by the BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2023.
The awards show will be presented by Gary Lineker, Clare Balding, Alex Scot and Gabby Logan as they celebrate sports icons that have excelled this year. The sport awards is celebrating its 70th anniversary this year and the broadcaster is pulling out all the stops to celebrate the big event.
The One Show will resume as normal from Wednesday after the Monday and Tuesday schedule shake-up. Just last month, the talk show was taken off-air to make way for the annual BBC Children in Need special, which raises money for disadvantaged children.
This comes as fans of the show all had the same complaint after Hollywood star Jason Momoa appeared on Monday’s show alongside other guests James Nesbitt and Nigella Lawson.
During the show, the Aquaman star, who sat in the middle of the two, turned his back on celebrity chef Nigella to chat with James.
Jason had turned on the sofa to completely face James on the BBC chat show, leaving Nigella blocked out from the conversation.
Fans who tuned in weren’t pleased by his “rude” behaviour and took to social media to express their thoughts.
Posting on X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer said: “#TheOneShow Jason Momoa sat with his back to Nigella the whole time on the sofa… So rude… Grace Jones slapped Russel Harty for that… Quite right too.” (sic)
Another fan expressed: “Never really been a fan of Jason but now definitely not a fan the way he has his back to Nigella! #rude! #theoneshow.” (sic)
A third added: “Yes so weird that he would sit in such a rude way. He looks ridiculous. Jason why?” (sic)
While a fourth wrote: “How bad mannered of the big guy Jason Moma? Turning his back on Nigella. Cutting her out of the conversation #theoneshow.” (sic)
The One Show airs weeknights at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
