Beyond Paradise star teases big journey ahead as she addresses future

It looks as though there’s a big storyline coming up in Beyond Paradise for Anne Lloyd (played by Barbara Flynn). Appearing on This Morning alongside actress Sally Bretton, who plays Martha Lloyd, the duo touched on the upcoming series.

Alison Hammond questioned if Anne would be getting back on the dating scene and the BBC star replied: “Yes, after a long and happy marriage. I think she’s coming to a bit after the death of her husband.”

Admitting that the urge to start dating comes after seeing how close Martha and her husband Humphrey Goodman (Kris Marshall) are, Anne decides to give it a try herself. Barbara confessed: “It’s a completely foreign world for her, she’s completely lost.”

Teasing that Anne is getting dating tips from some of the locals in Shipton Abbott, the actress revealed there are two men in the spotlight. Barbara confessed: “She does hook up on the second date with Richard, who is played by Peter Davidson.”

Barbara stated that she and Peter have known each other for years after starring alongside one another in A Very Peculiar Practice. Speaking about her upcoming storyline in Beyond Paradise, Dermot O’Leary shared that a lot of people will resonate with giving love a second go later on in life.

Alison touched on the special relationship viewers see between Martha and Anne and coming to terms with her mother now dating.

Sally replied: “I know all of that and she’s very protective of her.

“It’s a new world and she doesn’t want her to be vulnerable but at the same time, she does go on a journey with it.

“She’s nervous at the beginning and becomes more exciting and more embracing, it’s a lot of shifting.”

In a clip shown to viewers, Beyond Paradise fans got to see a glimpse of Anne’s new dating world as she prepared to meet someone special.

Asking Martha to be back at the cafe by 3pm so that she has enough time for her date at 7pm, her daughter is stunned by how long she needs to prepare.

In the clip, Anne replied: “There’s no point in even trying to explain it to you, just wait until you’re my age, all will become clear.”

The second series of the popular show kicked off last month as viewers continue to watch Martha and Humphrey plan to expand their family.

A synopsis for the upcoming episode reads: “A fishing trawler heads out to sea with three brothers and their ailing stepmother aboard.

“When it returns to Shipton Abbott harbour several hours later, only the three fishermen remain. A note found on deck suggests the woman took her own life. As her estranged daughter comes to town to help make funeral arrangements, the simple case grows more complex.

“Elsewhere, the day of the house visit arrives, though it’s no plain sailing for Humphrey and Martha. “

Beyond Paradise continues Friday on BBC One from 8pm.
