On Monday night, Coronation Street’s Mason Radcliffe (played by Luca Toolan) appeared in court after threatening schoolboy Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall). As the schoolboy gave his testimony against the bully, all eyes were on Dylan Wilson (Liam McCheyne).
After being threatened by the bully that he and his family would be in danger if he testified against Mason, Dylan was terrified. At first, when he was questioned in court, Dylan lied that he never saw Mason in possession of a knife.
However, after he saw Liam storm out of the courtroom, he finally told the truth as the barrister highlighted the consequences of lying. Confessing it was Mason he saw with a knife, the judge had made a decision.
Being given a verdict, she told the courtroom: “Having reviewed all evidence, this court finds you guilty of threatening Liam Connor in a public place with a knife on 22 November 2023. In part, I have arrived at this verdict due to your unwillingness to give testimony in your own defence.
“But, I couldn’t have come to my decision without the evidence of the entirely credible witness statements we have heard today. I will adjourn your sentencing for one week to hear from your youth justice worker.
“However, given that this is your second knife crime offence I warn you that as a matter of law, the only sentence available for me is a sentence of imprisonment.”
As the people in the courtroom let out a loud sigh of relief, Liam and Dylan were holding back tears as they learnt that Mason would no longer be able to torment them.
Although the youth will be spending some time behind bars, some ITV viewers have been left fearful for Liam and Dylan’s safety.
It comes after one of Mason’s brothers appeared in the courtroom with him, not wanting to see him end up getting sentenced.
@FillsWhales said: “Now Mason’s entire family comes for Liam and Dylan. There are no happy endings in life.”
@VampLover27 commented: “They’re gonna get targeted by Masons boys 100 percent.”
Thrilled with the outcome, @matt_johnson_89 tweeted: “Mason is being sent down! For once in a soap justice is done.”
@OliReading added: “#Corrie Mason going down!!”
@Warennie24 said: “Finally good riddance.”
With @dawneva3 fearing that the bullying torment isn’t over, they wrote: “Not over yet for Dylan and Liam I reckon you have something else up your sleeves don’t you lol.”
Could this just be the beginning of more bullying for the two friends? Or has justice been served?
Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
