Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne seeks help from an unlikely source in Lauren twist

It looks as though there’s trouble on the way for Coronation Street’s Daniel Osbourne (played by Rob Mallard). Official spoilers for the ITV soap reveal someone on the cobbles seems to believe he has something to do with Lauren Bolton’s (Cait Fritton) disappearance.

In scenes set to air next week, Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon) wants to try and get Daniel’s mind off the missing teen. Suggesting they go for a walk together, he agrees and all seems to be well.

That is until they bump into Max Turner (Paddy Bever) outside of the cafe. It isn’t long before Daniel loses his temper and has a go at the teen for reporting him to the police.

Blasting Max for wasting police time, Daniel and Bethany head off. Although Max is left perplexed as he admits to Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) he has no idea what’s going on.

Abi reveals who really reported Daniel to the police as Max decides to pay a visit to the factory. While there, he reels at Bobby Crawford (Jack Carroll) for not telling him about Daniel’s involvement in Lauren’s disappearance.

Later on, Bethany reads an article online which suggests that Lauren was working as an escort before she disappeared.

This gives Daniel an idea to call his old friend Nicky Wheatley (Kimberly Hart Simpson).

When Bethany spots Max in the café, anger takes over as she orders him to lay off Daniel as he’s a lovely, kind person who is being wrongfully accused.

As Daniel heads off to meet Nicky, Max decides to follow him, wanting to find out where he’s going.

While in the precinct, Daniel has a chat with Nicky and her friend Deana.

Watching the three of them converse, Max is thrilled and takes some pictures on his phone.

He explains to Bobby that he recognises Nicky as a sex worker and believes Daniel is clearly hiding something.

Has Max worked out whether or not Daniel is involved in Lauren’s disappearance? Or has he misinterpreted the whole ordeal?

ITV viewers last saw Nicky onscreen four years ago as she also used to work as an escort.

When she first met Daniel, the pair bonded as he turned to her for emotional support after losing his wife Sinead Tinker (Katie McGlynn), to cancer.

Now Nicky is an outreach worker within the community, which Daniel believes may be able to help get information about Lauren’s disappearance from the girls she supports on the streets.

Coronation Street continues Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV from 8pm.
