ITV 1% Club makes history as contestants win record breaking jackpot in nail-biting final

During Saturday’s episode of The 1% Club, history was made after three contestants split a record-breaking jackpot in a tense and nail-biting final. Five contestants made it through to the final as they were asked one final question in a bid to win the whopping cash prize of £100,000.

Host Lee Mack asked them: “What connects the following words?” with the words in question being haunt, mumble, sonic and granite. One by one, Lee, 55, asked them all what their answers were, with Scott, Katie and Nooran all saying the words were related to family members.

Contestant Maria didn’t put an answer down while Bobby said the words were all related to siblings. The time came to find out what the answer was as Lee said: “Okay, let’s take a look at the answer.”

Everyone waited patiently for the answer as ITV viewers at home were on the edge of their seats in the nerve-wracking wait. “It’s family members, they all contain a family member, congratulations you three,” Lee exclaimed as the studio audience clapped for the trio.

“You are the winners, you get a share of everything in the prize pot which means of course is £33,333.” Scott, Katie and Nooran appeared ecstatic as they won the life-changing amount of money to take home.

Viewers at home played along at home as they took to X, formely known as Twitter, to reveal how well they did.

One ITV viewer said: “Got the 1 percent question right for the first time ever! Though I’ll be honest I’m sure the cup question was a lot harder #1percentclub.”

Another person expressed: “Got to be the easiest #1percentclub question ever? That mug one was more tricky! As for siblings that dudes been robbed #onepercentclub.”

Somebody else penned: “Feeling smart at getting the 1 Percent question on #1PercentClub nearly right away, but wouldn’t have made it to the end cos the mug and flag questions stumped me…”

Yet another wrote: “I struggled on some of the questions tonight on the #OnePercentClub but got the 1% answer. it was fairly easy, to be honest? #1Percentclub.”

A fifth asked: “How is that 1% question harder than the cup question?! #1PercentClub,” while a sixth added: “I got the 1% question right #1percentclub.”

The 1% Club continues on Saturday at 8:55pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
