Loose Women star Kaye Adams has announced a break from the ITV daytime show. The 61-year-old, who is the longest-serving panellist, took to Instagram to tell her 160,000 followers that she and her co-stars would be back after the Easter Bank Holiday weekend.
After Friday’s episode, Kaye shared a picture of herself with her co-stars Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson and Sunetra Sarker as they beamed from ear to ear for a selfie in the studio.
She penned: “Hopping off now for the Easter holidays after a great show with this trio! What are your plans? If you saw the show you know what mine are!”
Viewers won’t have to wait for long as the Loose ladies will be back on Tuesday after the long Easter weekend. During Friday’s instalment of the ITV show, panellist Sunetra praised Charlie Fairfield who starred in Casualty for nearly four decades.
The actress, 50, opened up about sharing the screen with Derek Thompson calling it a “privilege”. For 38 years Derek, 75, starred in the popular BBC show before stepping back at the start of this year.
He was the longest serving cast member after appearing in the first episode back in 1986. Sunetra gushed as she told her co-hosts that viewers were lucky, “to get him to stay in this warm place, and I was just so privileged”.
She recalled that he was there throughout her duration on the show. “I mean, he was there on my first day for me to be there on his last day, there was this really special memorable moment in and all the stuff?.
“People wouldn’t have jobs had it not been for Derek’s character being so successful in that first series to push the show all the way through.”
She continued to brand him a “national treasure” and expects to work on other projects.
Sunetra played Dr. Zoe Hanna on and off from 2007 to 2016 and then again in 2018, before returning this year.
Earlier this month, Charlie’s character Derek bowed out of Casualty after he was stabbed by a patient and left fighting for his life.
Fans were left waiting on the edge of their seat during the nail-biting episode to find out whether he survived, but thankfully he did, and decided it was time for him to retire.
Loose Women returns on Tuesday at 12:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
