NCIS 1000th episode welcomes Bones and Friends star as Bandium boss Fletcher Voss

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from NCIS.

NCIS introduced Bandium boss Fletcher Voss but fans will remember the star from a number of other shows.

The CBS police procedural marked a major milestone on Monday, April 15, with the mothership celebrating the franchise’s 1,000th ever episode.

Entitled A Thousand Yards, the instalment kicked off with Director Leon Vance (played by Rocky Carroll) being shot while at his late wife’s grave, followed by three explosions.

After a thorough investigation, the team discovers that the string of events are connected, leading back to Bandium the communication app that Alden Parker (Gary Cole) introduced the team to.

He brought it in as Parker thought it would mean better communication among the agents but as the company was losing value, Bandium boss Fletcher Voss (TJ Thyne) needed NCIS to renew its contract.

In a bid to do this, he made friends with Jared Vance’s (Spencer Moore II) online girlfriend Lindsay who had an unknown grudge to bear with the team.

Little did he realise the extent of her plans as Lindsay was really the daughter of Leonard Rish who was responsible for the attack on Air Force One in the pilot episode Yankee White.

Who plays NCIS’ Bandium boss Fletcher Voss in the 1,000th episode?

NCIS introduced entrepreneur Fletcher Voss in A Thousand Yards who is portrayed by actor TJ Thyne.

Fans of the 49-year-old will best recognise him as entomologist, botanist and mineralogist Jack Hodgins in the Fox drama Bones which ran for a whopping 12 years.

Viewers will particularly remember Hodgins for his on-off romance with Angela Montenegro until they finally sealed the deal and got married near the end of season five.

This is far from the only popular series that Thyne has been apart of during his 27-year career, including Charmed, Erin Brockovich, Heartbreakers, Good Morning, Miami, 24, The OC and Grey’s Anatomy.

Friends fanatics would have also spotted Thyne in the 1998 episode The One Hundredth as Dr Oberman who Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow) refuses to have when she’s giving birth as he is too young.

A Thousand Yards isn’t the first time Thyne has been in NCIS either as he was cast in a different role back in the very first series.

He portrayed a character called Carl in episode 14, One Shot One Kill, who is an assistant warehouse manager involved in the latest case.

While Thyne isn’t listed to return to the drama as Voss, given Bandium’s connection with NCIS, there could be an opportunity to one day make a comeback.

NCIS season 21 continues every Monday on CBS.
