A Colombian couple were arrested after trying to board a plane with 5kg of cocaine at Manaus airport

The Federal Police, in collaboration with the Federal Revenue, during Operation Closed Gates, arrested a Colombian woman and a man for international drug trafficking, in the early hours of Tuesday (15), at Eduardo Gomes International Airport.

The two had 5 kg of fractionated cocaine in their checked baggage, which was identified by sniffer dogs. In addition, the man still had R$11,000 in cash in his backpack.

After formal arrest for the act, the individuals are sent to the Regional Inspector of the Federal Police in Amazonas, where they can be tried and can be held accountable for the crime of transnational drug trafficking.
