This week, the Attorney General's Office revealed progress in the investigation into the alleged kidnapping of Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada and murder of Dr. Héctor Melesio Cuén, former rector of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS).
On a farm in Huertos del Pedregal in the capital of Culiacán, traces of the former chancellor's blood were found, which the Prosecutor's Office later confirmed that the official was at the place where the historical capo was kidnapped and not as a recording at the gas station. .
Blood from bodyguard “El Mayo” was found in the vehicle and blood was also obtained. a video showing driver Melesio Cuén denying his statements to local authorities about the disappearance of the former chancellor.
The FGR told the Culiacán federal judge to refuse to know and determine the arrest of those responsible, so that the Public Ministry would try an alternative judge.
The FGR, the federal Secretariat for Security and Protection of Citizens, participated in the operation, with support from the Mexican National Guard, Army and Navy.
