Lorraine Guest host Ranveer Singh was forced to apologise on the show on Friday after he uttered an unexpected expletive.
During the show, Ranveer, 47, was chatting to musician and Matilda composer Tim Minchin on the ITV programme. The conversation took an awkward turn when Tim, 48, inadvertently used the word “b******s” while discussing tours and ticket prices, prompting Ranveer to interrupt the interview to apologise for the language used.
Ranveer chimed in, “Oh, hi, we got here and you said that. Sorry for the swearing!” Meanwhile, early in their conversation, Tim mentioned that his eyes were feeling weird after the eye health segment earlier in the show. He remarked, “It's so funny, I think all this talking has made my lenses kind of migrate anyway!” to which Ranveer then advised him to get his contacts adjusted and joked that they had a doctor nearby if needed.
In 2023, Tim stunned his audience by sharing some devastating personal news while performing on stage. The British-Australian comedian and musician was in Sydney for his show An Unfunny Evening with Tim Minchin and His Piano, entertaining a crowd of 2,000, reports Mirror.
At the end of his performance, the artist received a standing ovation, but then, returning to the stage for an encore, he announced heartbreaking news.
Addressing the crowd at the time, Tim took a deep breath before announcing, “My mum died yesterday,” as gasps were heard around the State Theatre in the Australian capital. Tim told his fans that he wanted the show to go on despite his broken heart before launching into one of his most popular songs, White Wine in the Sun.
As he belted out the lyrics, “I'm gonna see my dad, my brother and sisters, my grandma and my mom… drinking white wine in the sun,” the star's voice began to crack before he ended the show by asking the audience to help him sing the final song of the night, Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
During the fiery song, the lights in the theater were turned off, and many of the spectators, quietly singing along with Tim, cried.
During his performance, Tim shared several stories from his life and performed a number of popular songs he wrote from Matilda. The Musical, Groundhog Day the Musical, and his album So F***ing Rock. The Darkside star also shared stories about his mom Ros, including her diagnosis with terminal blood cancer in 2020, and performed many of the songs he wrote about her.
