Sheinbaum defends the extinction of INAI

Recalling the agreement of the Ministry of Interior (Segob) and the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data (INAI) to meet and dialogue, after former president Andrés Manuel López Obrador proposed dissolving the autonomous body. President Claudia Sheinbaum assured that transparency will not be lost in her administration.

“The disappearance of INAI does not mean that transparency in the Government is lost, on the contrary, we will be even stricter in terms of transparency,” said Sheinbaum in his morning conference this Tuesday, October 15 at the State Palace.

He commented that he would invite the Secretary of Public Services, Raquel Buenrostro, because this institution is “transforming into the Secretariat for Anti-Corruption and Good Governance.”

“He will explain what mechanisms can still guarantee that, despite all the progress that has been made, there is still a way to eradicate all forms of corruption, both from prevention and sanctions, which Raquel will be responsible for, and also transparency,” he said.
