The new law will not create windmills quickly

In early October, draft amendments to the so-called Windmill Law. The most important change is the removal of the 10H rule which means giving approval to erect a windmill provided it is located at a minimum distance of ten times the height of the windmill from the nearest building. Already last year this rule was replaced, under certain conditions, with the possibility of shortening the distance to a minimum of 700 m. However, provisions related to 10H in the Law remain. Under the current project, the distance must be set at a minimum of 500 m and this also applies to areas of environmental value, such as Natura 2000. The project will also shorten the construction period for onshore wind power plants from five to seven to three or four years.
