Tsvetan Tsirkov is a new member of the Supervisory Board of “Lukoil Neftohim Burgas”, it became known after the General Meeting of the company held today, the Ministry of Energy announced. Tsirkov has long been a civil servant at the Ministry of Economy and Industry.
The state, represented by the Ministry of Energy, owns one class “A” share (the so-called “golden share”) of the refinery capital. In this capacity, the state has the right to nominate one of the members of the company's Supervisory Board, who must be elected by the General Meeting of Shareholders, the energy department added.
Tsirkov will take up the position after entering the Commercial Register. A request for this has been submitted by Lukoil Neftohim Burgas, the announcement also stated.
BTA remembers that said Acting Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov On this occasion there was information regarding the potential sale of the Burgas refinery to the Qatari-English consortium, that the Bulgarian state's rights to the “A” class share in “Lukoil Neftohim Burgas” were too limited. “I would argue that we have more opportunities to get information when ownership changes. “The state must have the right to express an opinion regarding this kind of process when it comes to companies – which is part of the state's national security,” he said.
