On Thursday evening, October 17, the media outlet El Debate was attacked with bullets by gunmen who arrived at the scene in vehicles.
According to the same media report, at least 12 bullet hits were recorded on the facade of El Debate located in Culiacán.
Currently there are no reported casualties as a result of the attack, but apart from the front of the building, several vehicles were also damaged.
Shortly before 11 p.m., armed men traveling in two vehicles arrived at the El Debate facility, on Donato Guerra Street, between Cristóbal Colón and Francisco I. Madero Boulevard in the city.
The vehicle, which was a covered van, stopped at the corner of Cristóbal Colón Street, before one of them appeared with a long gun and started shooting at the publisher, according to the same media.
After the attack, the armed group headed west of the city on Colón Street, leaving behind extensive damage to the front of the newspaper, as well as to nearby vehicles.
