A 3-year-old girl was shot in the head while being taken by her parents to receive medical treatment at a hospital in Belford Roxo, in Rio de Janeiro, on Thursday (17) evening.
Estela de Oliveira Ferreira and her parents were in the Bela Vista neighborhood when the militia arrived at the area, which is dominated by drug dealers, firing guns.
Estela was taken to Fluminense Hospital, in Belford Roxo, where the medical team managed to stabilize her health condition. She was then transferred to Adão Pereira Nunes Municipal Hospital, in Duque de Caxias, where an assessment will be carried out to decide whether the girl will undergo surgery.
Based on the official note sent by the Military Police, the 39th BPM (Belford Roxo) did not take any action in the city of Bela Vista. Furthermore, the company reported that, according to battalion surveys, rival criminals are increasingly clashing in the region. Police in the area were strengthened.
According to the PM, police officers from the 39th BPM visited Fluminense Hospital. The case was registered at the 54th Precinct (Belford Roxo).
