Solingen: A man reportedly took off his girlfriend's belt and then hit the wall of the house

A serious traffic accident occurred in Solingen, North Rhine-Westphalia, on Sunday morning. Police are now investigating whether the driver deliberately wanted to injure or even kill his 18-year-old girlfriend.

The accident occurred when the couple was driving the Kia on Alfred-Nobel-Straße towards Klauberger Straße. At 03.30, a 34-year-old driver crashed into the wall of an apartment building on Wupperstrasse in Solingen at high speed. This is what “Bild” reports.

When the accident was recorded, police found that the driver smelled of alcohol and was staggering. Based on the young passenger's statement, the 34 year old man deliberately hit the wall and even loosened his seat belt first. The 18-year-old was seriously injured in the crash and had to be hospitalized.

Due to serious allegations, the man was arrested and taken to the police station. There he had to provide a blood sample to find out the exact alcohol content in his blood. The accident vehicle was confiscated to secure evidence and investigate the course of the accident. No further details are known at this time regarding the status of the investigation.
