On Saturday, May 11, Alcudia hosted one of the largest HOMBRE DE HIERRO events in the world. The city saw enthusiastic spectators line the streets and beaches to cheer on the participants, creating an electric atmosphere.
Alcudia beach
The race started in the calm waters of Alcudia Bay, providing a picturesque setting for the 1.9km swim sector. Athletes started and finished at Playa d'Alcudia. As participants emerged from the swimming area, they were greeted by a cheering crowd along the 100-meter IRONMAN red carpet.
Mountainous landscapes
After the swim, the athletes embarked on a challenging 90km bike ride, navigating mountainous landscapes. The subsequent 21.1km three-loop run took in the picturesque bay of Alcudia, culminating in a triumphant beachside finish.
Britain and Germany claim victory
Emma Pallent-Brown of Great Britain claimed victory in the women's competition, while Nicolas Mann of Germany secured first place in the men's race.
