Susanna Reid confirms return to Good Morning Britain with three-word update

Susanna Reid has been taking a break from her presenting duties for the past two weeks while the Easter holidays have been underway. However, she has announced when she will return to Good Morning Britain on social media.

Sharing a selfie under a blossom tree wearing large black sunglasses and smiling, the host captioned her Instagram story: “Blossom season!”

The 53-year-old teased when she will be heading back to her daytime television role, simply writing: “Back next week @gmb.”

While the broadcaster did not confirm which day she will return to screens, viewers can expect her to resume her Monday to Wednesday slot which she usually hosts alongside Richard Madeley.

Richard has remained relatively quiet on social media since being away from screens, but he is expected to return next week.

Elsewhere, Susanna and her Good Morning Britain co-star Kate Garraway are reportedly in the running to host This Is Your Life which is making a comeback after two decades.

The series first aired in 1955 with Eamonn Andrews being the popular show’s presenter.

Later on, Michael Aspel hosted the programme between 1987 and 2003, and he’s perhaps best remembered as the man with the big red book.

A woman has never presented the series, which returned briefly in 2007 for a one-off special with Sir Trevor McDonald as the host.

Kate, Susanna and Question Time presenter Fiona Bruce are all understood to be in with a chance of fronting the revival.

“There is a reason This Is Your Life aired for so many years – as a format, it’s perfect,” a source told The Sun.

“It’s warm, entertaining and interesting, plus is fairly affordable to make, which of course helps.

“Since it last ran properly in 2003 many more celebrities are now worthy of the big red book treatment.”

Rumours have been circulating about the show’s return since Pointless host Richard Osman opened up about the show on his The Rest Is Entertainment podcast.

He said: “I got a message from a very big-name presenter saying they’d just been offered a reboot of This Is Your Life.”

However, the best-selling author did not disclose who the message was referring to.

Good Morning Britain airs on weekdays between 6am and 9am on ITV and ITVX.
