Green city councilor Delija Balidemaj joined CSU to. According to information from “Mercury” the 56 year old leaves Green Partybecause he can no longer identify with his group, especially in the areas of migration and internal security.
Green Party spokesperson Martina Neubauer described the change as “completely surprising and without prior notice”.

Balidemaj only moved to the city council in July 2023 as Bernd Schreyer's successor. After his move, the Green/Pink List faction now has 23 members, the same number as the CSU/Free Voters. Although the Greens are no longer the largest parliamentary group, they remain affiliated with the Greens SPD still a majority at city hall.
The former Green Party politician lives in Munich, is married and has two adult children. He studied electrical engineering at the University of Prishtina in Kosovo and has worked for the city of Munich since 2002.
