Minister Alfredo Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena, member of the Supreme Court of Nations (SCJN), participated in an academic forum at Harvard University, where he explained the scope of recent judicial reforms in Mexico.
In his speech, details the new constitutional requirements to become a judge or magistrate, which include an average of at least 8 years as a university graduate and the submission of five letters of recommendation.

Gutiérrez Ortiz Mena explained that those who meet these requirements will be able to take part in the June 2025 elections.where new members of the Judiciary will be elected.
