Daphne Santana Fernández, Director of Health, indicated that 1,008 consultations were given to the municipality throughout the year, due to symptoms of respiratory allergies, or respiratory tract infections. The official commented that apart from guarding against sudden changes in temperature, it is also important to maintain hygiene habits such as washing hands with soap and water, as this will help eliminate bacteria responsible for disease transmission. He said that every family member should dress warmly before leaving the house, especially children and the elderly, so they should avoid sudden changes in temperature.
