In a strategy to expand his support base in the second round of municipal elections, mayor David Almeida managed to secure the support of the Green Party (PV), led in the capital by councilor Jaildo Oliveira, a former ally in Manaus City. Council (CMM ).
In a video shared on social media this Tuesday (15), Jaildo announced that his voters must now support number 70, from Avante, Almeida's party.
“Whoever believed in me in the first half, now in the second half @davidalmeidaam 7️⃣0️⃣. Let's elect our mayor together so the work can continue. The correct and safe way to get to Manaus is with David, 7️⃣0️⃣. I'm counting on you!”
PV's support for Almeida's candidacy was revealed after a meeting with the Brazilian Federation of Hope held on the 11th.
However, due to political differences, it was impossible to reach a consensus so that each party could choose its candidate independently.
Before taking over the leadership of the Green Party, Jaildo Oliveira was part of the mayoral base in the CMM and always supported the municipal Executive's bills. With this new alliance, the possibility of continuing the partnership could be considered if Almeida is re-elected for a second term.
