The sixth repatriation flight from Lebanon arrived with 212 passengers

The sixth flight of Operation Raízes do Cedro, with 212 passengers rescued from Lebanon, landed at São Paulo Air Base, in Guarulhos (SP), at 06:15 (Manaus time), this Saturday (19). There are now more than 1,300 people, including Brazilians and Lebanese relatives of Brazilians, taken by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB), who fled the conflict between Israel and the Hezbollah group. There were 14 kids and a cat when they came down this Saturday.

About three thousand people have asked to come to Brazil since the war between Israel and Hamas spread to Lebanese territory earlier this month.

Operation Raízes do Cedro has so far repatriated 1,317 passengers, including 242 children, 40 babies, 138 elderly people, 12 pregnant women, 101 people with health complications and 12 people with disabilities, as well as 15 pets.

Under an agreement between Itamaraty and the Lebanese government, women, children, the elderly and Brazilians who are not residents of Lebanon are given priority on the boarding list. Since October 4, the start of the rescue operation, FAB has made daily flights between Brazil and Lebanon, with a refueling stop in Lisbon, Portugal.
