Mexico City.- President Claudia Sheinbaum this Tuesday signed a renewal agreement with the private initiative to reduce the maximum price of the basic basket consisting of 24 products, to only 910 pesos.
“The commitment sets a maximum price of 910 pesos, down 129 pesos compared to the previous agreement of 1,039 pesos,” he reported.
In a closed meeting at the State Palace, entrepreneurs signed the 2024-2025 Package Against Inflation and Hunger (Pacific). Sheinbaum announced that the agreement stemming from the previous six-year term would continue with the production and marketing company.
“We appreciate this important collaboration in supporting the people's economy,” he said.
Interviewed after leaving the meeting, the president of the Business Coordinating Council, Francisco Cervantes, also expressed his support for Pacic's renewal. He assured that in the meeting with the President no issues related to violence and security problems occurring in the country were discussed. The signing was attended by the Secretaries of Finance, Economy, Agriculture, Energy and Security, as well as the heads of Pemex and CFE.
