Harry Styles on Liam Payne's death: 'It was an honor to be by his side'

Harry Styles spoke on Thursday evening (17) about the death of Liam Payne, his former One Direction bandmate.

In an emotional statement, the “As It Was” singer expressed his sorrow for the loss of his friend, describing Liam as someone whose greatest joy was making people happy.

He highlighted that it was an honor to be by Liam's side and highlighted the infectious energy the singer has in life, in addition to his warm, supportive and affectionate character.

“I am truly devastated by Liam's death.

His greatest joy was making others happy, and it was an honor to be by his side as he did so.

Liam lives intensely, with all his heart, he has an energy for life that is infectious. He is warm, supportive, and very affectionate. The years we spent together will forever be some of the most precious years of my life. I will always miss you, my friend.

My heart breaks for Karen, Geoff, Nicola and Ruth, their son Bear, and everyone around the world who knew and loved him as much as I did.
