Hurricane 'Nadine' forms; will affect the Yucatan Peninsula

Mexico City.- Typhoon “Quince” intensifies tonight and forms tropical storm “Nadine”, which will bring heavy rains to Quintana Roo, Campeche and Yucatán.

According to the United States National Hurricane Center (NHC), the typhoon strengthened at around 23:30 Mexico City time.

Currently, the typhoon is located 70 kilometers south of Chetumal, Quintana Roo, and has a maximum wind speed of 65 kilometers per hour, and gusts of 85 km/h. The storm is expected to make landfall this Saturday morning in Belize, but will impact parts of the Yucatan Peninsula.

“Nadine” is the 14th phenomenon of the 2024 hurricane season.
