Two ships were damaged after a landslide hit the coast of the municipality of Boa Vista do Ramos, in the interior of Amazonas, this Wednesday (16).

According to the Civil Defense, two small boats were damaged by the phenomenon, and there were no reports of casualties. The beach was closed and a request was made for the boats to be removed from the area.

The city council highlighted, in a note, that a city decree published in May already prohibited any ships from anchoring at Boa Vista do Ramos beach.

“This step was taken due to the lack of resilience of the structure to withstand great efforts and was requested by the company responsible for the work, since the “treatment” time of the walls after construction is at least one year. In case of non-compliance, violators will be notified and, in case of repeat violations, they may be fined,” the statement said.
