Israel has violated UN resolutions and international law for decades through its illegal occupation of Palestinian territory and an apartheid system that segregates and ignores the rights of the Palestinian population. Additionally, they have imposed a blockade on Gaza since 2007, with periodic massacres and killings of civilians. However, Europe and the United States, among others, have maintained privileged relations with Israel over the years, through arms sales, preferential trade agreements, and close collaboration, which contributed to apartheid. So, we've come this far.
Last July International Court of Justice demanding an end to Israel's illegal occupation, pointing out the segregation experienced by the Palestinian population and asking UN member states to suspend trade and investment which contributes to illegal occupation. In September, the UN General Assembly responded to this decision with similar demands a resolution approved by a large majority.
