A 14-year-old teenager killed three classmates at a rural school in the municipality of Heliópolis, north of Bahia. This case occurred this Friday (18), based on information from the General Security Secretariat (SSP-BA).
The victim was 15 years old. Eyewitnesses reported that the young man used a firearm to carry out the shooting. Military, Civil and Technical Police were called in to provide assistance and begin an investigation.
The state government reported that it is taking necessary measures. In his publication in X, Governor Jerônimo Rodrigues (PT) regretted the deaths and expressed his condolences to the families and friends of the victims. He also ordered the SSP to investigate the case. After opening fire, the teenager committed suicide.
Heliópolis City Hall and the City Department of Education expressed “deep regret and concern,” offered condolences to the victims' families and reaffirmed their commitment to safety in schools. In addition, they conveyed that psychological support measures are being taken and the city government is cooperating with the investigation.
