The deputies discussed secondary legislation on judicial reform

Mexico City.- The deputies discussed the minutes of secondary justice reform legislation approved on Thursday in the Republican Senate.

The legislative package was sent a week ago by President Claudia Sheinbaum to establish the rules, calendar and process for selecting judges, justices and ministers in the 2025 elections.

The trial, which took place semi-face-to-face, started at 12.17 with a quorum of 469 deputies. Previously, there was an intervention to publish this opinion. The parliamentary group agreed to a 10-minute intervention to determine the stance for and against, reported Morenoist Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, president of the Lower House Board of Directors.

As a form of protest, DPR PRI members brought bouquets of flowers to the plenary session with the words “Justice Dies”.

After debate, Morena and its allies are expected to agree on modifications to preparation, implementation, and validation at all stages of the process. These are the changes to the Election Procedures Law and the Challenge Facilities Law, so that there are regulations before the call for the election of judges is issued, the deadline for which is set on Wednesday.
