Qatar Airways launches free high-speed Wi-Fi from Elon Musk's Starlink. The first flight to use this technology was a Boeing 777 from Doha to London.
Qatar Airways will be the first airline in the Middle East and North Africa region to offer this service. According to “CNBC“ to equip twelve Boeing 777-300s with the service by the end of 2024 and to cover the entire Boeing 777 fleet and Airbus A350 fleet by 2025. “Starlink is free for all passengers and works from gate to gate,” a Qatar Airways spokesperson said.
Starlink's launch poses challenges for other airlines, which often offer slow or fee-based Wi-Fi. Elon Musk explained that the service is continually being optimized through new satellites and software upgrades.

With Starlink, devices connect to the Internet via space satellites. Starlink users receive a satellite dish and router that connects devices via WiFi or LAN cable.
