Mexico City.- President Claudia Sheinbaum met this afternoon with the founder of Grupo Carso, Carlos Slim, and with the president of the Business Coordinating Council (CCE), Francisco Cervantes.
Representatives of the private sector arrived at the National Palace, where they had a private dinner with the federal president, who last week held meetings with the leaders and executives of the most important companies in Mexico and the United States.
As a result of the meeting, organized by the Ministry of Economy, the federal government announced the sector's initial interest in investing more than 20 billion dollars in various projects in the fields of energy, digital trade and tourism. The President announced that his administration's Regional Economic Development and Business Relocation Advisory Council will continue to be honorably coordinated by businesswoman Altagracia Gómez and will include not only individual entrepreneurs, but also private sector chambers.
This afternoon's meeting took place after Sheinbaum announced that he would be in Acapulco next Sunday to lead a press conference at which he would deliver a report on the reconstruction task of that port, which was affected by hurricanes “Otis”, in 2023. and “John”, this year .
