They stop Locos at home

In the penultimate home game of the 2024 USL Championship season, El Paso Locomotive FC lost 2-0 to Orange County SC at Southwest University Park on Wednesday night. It was the first defeat in the last six matches they played at home.

“It was a tough night for us to have and we didn't play at the level we have before,” Locomotive coach Wilmer Cabrera said. “We have to make sure we recover and we have to be solid again, make sure we don't concede and try to close out the last game of the season at home with a good result.”

El Paso trailed 1-0 after Orange County opened the scoring on a transition in the 16th minute and then doubled the lead in the 69th minute on a counterattack.

Despite the Locos' best efforts, Orange County's defense remained strong enough to limit the El Pasoans' scoring opportunities.

Locomotive will now regroup and prepare to host Sacramento Republic FC this Saturday, hoping to close out the year on home soil on a high.
